MIS can provide materials only or complete materials and installation services for the full range of thermal, acoustical, condensation control, protective jacketing and personnel protection insulation applications. We have been involved with many "re-insulation projects" after asbestos abatement or mold abatement is completed.

  1. Thermal Insulation for:

    1. Piping Systems - including low temperature ammonia for freezer plants, domestic cold and hot water, roof drains, cooling coil condensate drains, heating hot water, steam and steam condensate for heating and process systems. Typical materials utilized include molded fiberglass, flexible unicellular, polyisocyanurate, calcium silicate, cellular glass, polyolefin/polyethylene and mineral fiber.

    2. Duct Systems - for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, heat recovery, breechings and exhaust systems, chilled water, refrigeration suction and liquid, etc. Typical materials are generically the same as those used for piping but in forms specific to duct application.

    3. Equipment - including pumps, tanks, boilers, air separators, humidifiers, engine manifolds and turbo chargers, ovens, moisture separators, condensers, heat exchangers and specialized process equipment.

  2. Acoustical Insulations - typically used to protect personnel in noisy environments to comply with OSHA requirements. Examples would include marine engine and equipment spaces, manufacturing environments, gas pipe line pumping stations, etc. Typical materials include a variety of absorbent fibrous materials, perforated jacketing and mass-loaded mastics and septum type sheathing.

  3. Protective Jacketing - often applied to insulation for added mechanical resistance, reflectivity, weather resistance, enhanced clean-ability, color coding, aesthetics, to enhance acoustical performance or extend the service life of insulation in areas of abuse.

  4. Personnel Protection Insulations - applied to avoid injury to personnel and for OSHA compliance. Examples of these applications include molded covers for exposed handicap lavs (TRUBRO Kits), burn protection, reduce emitted noise levels, etc.

  5. Marine Applications include all previously referenced applications with materials specific to the marine environment.
Engine exhaust pipe and muffler applications are often accomplished with custom built removable blankets, utilizing many different core insulations, exterior finishes or fastening options.

The pictures below illustrate a few of the many different services we provide.
